Frog Hill Residential Housing Concept

Lukovica pri Brezovici, Slovenia, 2016

Concept and renderings: Gregor Erjavec

We seem to be perpetually pushing nature out of our suburban areas, by still densely building in our rural environments. This kind of construction is often random by design and function, and as such spoils the appearance of our natural environment, rather than complementing it. This project addresses this predicament by being dug into the hillside, adding multiple incredible views and a direct contact with nature, further improving the quality of living and reaping the benefits of country living. At the same time - with the project being semi-dug in - it also returns some of the previously lost areas, as a part of the excavated slope is restored to its original state. It is also unobtrusive, due to it’s low height profile.
